Hi from Seattle!
I’m JD and I’m a Pure Employee leading our US and Canada based Principal Technologist team. I live just outside of Seattle (Lake Forest Park) with my family. I also get to occasionally co-host episodes of The Pure Report podcast with Ludes and anmiller. Outside of Pure I’m into a lot of geeky things. My wife says I collect hobbies. I host a Pathfinder tabletop RPG campaign that’s been running since 2019. I scuba dive. I’m a Ham radio operator (N8JD), and I play golf extremely poorly. I may be best known however for my tendency to get in front of a karaoke mic. I don’t sing well but I do sing a lot. 😝

Hello world! I recently joined Pure about 3 months ago as a Principal Field Solutions Architect in AI/ML leading the field in US and Canada (or the hopes of eventually!). My background is bit of a mix between academic and industry as I did a PhD in Physics and AI about 10 years ago, did a series of postdocs and eventually transitioned to industry in 2019. Since then I've headed up startups in their data science, AI/ML engineering initiatives, and even once they made me director of engineering (went ok, actually). You can think of me as mostly a tech lead that just enjoys coding way too much. On the technical side, my background is in MLE, MLOps / AIOps centered around the typical python/pytorch/tensorflow/docker/serverless/etc/etc stack. Greetings from the pollen-inundated Commonwealth of Virginia! My name is Greg and I'm a Principal Technologist over US Federal for a little over a year now. I've spent time at EMC(and all it's permutations to present day) and in the partner space covering just about every vertical out there. In my free time, I love traveling with my wife(the Disney Princess below), catching the occasional game and most recently steering into trade crafts. A good friend of mine has reminded me that as much as we work with technology, jumping from video conferences and traveling to events....it's a refresher for the brain to disconnect and work with your hands. And yes, like my shirt in the picture says....it's not the years it's the mileage ;)
