A customer wants to be able to see host side performance metrics through Pure1

Hi everyone! A customer wants to be able to see host side performance metrics through Pure1 ( port status, HBAs..etc) through a storage monitoring tool ( like Hyper scale from IBM), something that Pure1 does not offer. Do we API with a third party that can do that? or with Hyper scale for that matter? Another request is the ability to manage the whole fleet from a single pane of glass vs having to log in each array separately ? do we have a solution for this?

  • Well those metrics etc can be sent to tools via REST importers--we do this for things like Splunk and vRealize Operations manager. So do they have a preferred tool? Also what environment are they looking to manage? If it is a VMware environment we can do it all from vSphere with out plugin--manage all of their arrays. Another possibility is Pure Fusion https://www.purestorage.com/products/storage-as-code/pure-fusion.html

  • Thanks, Cody. Currently they use IBM Hyper-scale manager for both (monitoring and managing) The environment is a mix of ESXi and bare metal windows and Linux. The storage team is independent from the compute team, so using vSphere plugin will not help the storage team. As for fusion, that will be mainly through CLI for the time being , right?
