Is the concept of "refreshing" volume groups possible

Is the concept of "refreshing" volume groups possible on an existing copy of a volume group? Let me rephrase. Say I setup a volume group (VG) of 24 volumes (PRD01) that are for a production database...

Before the version upgrade last night I used page 168 in this pdf: https://support.purestorage.com/@api/deki/files/42716/PurityFA_6.1.19_FlashArray_UserGuide.pdf?revision=1 i put a new name in there and I got the abover error about "volume already existing"
