Here's a random question for the PURE Community

We're taking down one of our Array's tonight and we'll have all the VMs that live on it moved off or powered down prior, but is there anything else to do on the SAN besides pull the power cords at that point? I saw a blog from a while ago (2014) that you just pull the power cords with nothing else to do? Is that still applicable?

  • Actually there is a power button, and not just one but two. One on each controller > Holding down on the power button located on the back of the controller - if you want to temporarily shut the controller down without changes to the hardware. Will also shut down the arrays controllers
  • There is not power button on a pure, its not meant to be shut down
  • Yep, perfect. That's the response I was looking for. Sadly, we have power constraints at our Datacenter and we have to move this array to another rack
