    good day, on both flasharray and flashblade the configuration is as simple as a list of commands, a lot like a network switch.  Usually customers would run "pureconfig list" to dump those commands and to back it up if desired.  It's also a part of the phone home data, so if you ever had issue pure support could provide the configuration if you don't have it backed up.

We do have customers who regularly backup the pure configuration with the Pureconfig list. As the others have said the array will never lose this config and you wont need it under normal circumstances. However some customers do take a "pureconfig -list" output occasionally to protect against a total  array replacement for example, you have a fire or flood and you trash your array. Once its replaced you replay the pureconfig output to speed up the recovery of your DC.
