vasa certs - can they just be removed?

Can someone shed some light on this as it seems overly complex (or at least the docs weave an incorrect thread). Just trying to make sense of whether the VASA certs are or aren't needed for anything...

    VASA is only for vVols.  It is not required for our vCenter plugin.  Storage providers for external storage are really only for vVols.  So if you aren't using vVols anymore then you don't need to have storage providers registered for the FlashArray.

I wound up just deleting them and see no more alerts nor any impact to plugins, etc. 

Is VASA only "really" used for vVols and not general VMware <> "your storage provider" plugin integration? It seems some documenation blurs the lines or was it up to the storage vendor to utilize?

    Thanks for confirming. I did see no fallout from removing those certs entirely, plugins are A-OK.
