Yeah VMware moved from server side to client side plugins

Yeah VMware moved from server side to client side plugins which forced a plugin host (they did this for among other reasons security--no more pushing arbitrary files to vCenter). Though our longer term plan is just offer it as a container (it is technically containerized today, just happens to be delivered in an OVA). Co-locating applications in the OVA is not currently in the plan
