With the Labor Day holiday for many of us this past weekend, it’s a bit of a shorter week this week. Which means this Wednesday was right around the corner! This brings us to our Weekly Creative Corner day today! Did you get to spend time in your creative endeavors this past week or long weekend? Maybe you set up a beautiful party with decor you’d love for us to see? Gardening perhaps? The sky’s the limit with these weekly posts and with more time this weekend, I’m sure some of you had some fun dabbling in a few things. We always love to see what our community members are up to. Thursday is here and that means it’s another week to grace you with an installment of 💡 Technology Tip Thursday! 💡 You just couldn’t wait could you? Here we have a technology milestone that shaped entertainment for the masses. Did you know that on August 31, 1907, Thomas Edison patented the kinetographic camera, a key invention in the history of filmmaking? The Kinetograph was the first electrical motion picture camera, developed by Thomas Edison and William K. L. Dickson around 1890, to record sequential images on celluloid film using a sprocket system for intermittent movement. This camera's output was then viewed in Edison's Kinetoscope (a peep-hole viewer) or later projected onto a screen, laying the foundation for modern cinema by creating the illusion of movement. 💡 Technology Tip Thursday 💡 is finally here again! Today we have another internet milestone that will for sure stir up some nostalgic moments of the past. Did you know that this month in 1991, the World Wide Web officially became public? On August 6, British computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee published the first-ever website while working at CERN, a physics lab in Switzerland. He shared his "WorldWideWeb" project on an internet newsgroup, inviting collaborators and providing instructions on how to use it. This key moment transformed the internet from a closed network of linked computers into an open, accessible system of information, laying the foundation for the web we know today. Interesting right?
