Technology Tip Thursday: The Internet's First Message & Mishap 📩
We’re here to bring you another 💡 Technology Tip Thursday! 💡 This week’s tech tip marks the introduction of how we communicate through the internet today. Did you know that it was this month in 1969 that the first message between two computers was sent and received? On October 29, 1969, the first message was sent over the ARPANET, the internet's precursor, between UCLA and Stanford Research Institute. The message, intended to be the word "login," was sent by UCLA student Charley Kline but the system crashed after the first two letters were transmitted, making the historic first message "lo". After the crash, the system was rebooted and the complete "login" message was successfully sent an hour later. Technology can be funny sometimes and what was supposed to be an iconic moment turned into a crash. It still made our history books though! So this begs us to ask the question, what are some of your funniest or most memorable message failures? Maybe Autocorrect turned a word into something different? Your finger slipped while typing? We want to hear it! Also make sure to comment on some of your favorite mishaps!catud4 days agoCommunity Manager12Views0likes0CommentsHelp Grow the Community & Get Rewarded - The New Refer-a-Friend Program

Let's be real, we've all seen that corner of the data center. The one with the cable spaghetti monster living in the back, humming with the heat of a small sun, and a power bill that would fund a moon mission. Well, a customer of ours decided it was time for an intervention. They took 9 racks of legacy gear (and its 36 power cords! 😱 ) and consolidated it all into this beauty right here. This isn't just any rack; it's a FlashStack—a glorious combo of Cisco UCS servers, Nexus switches, and Pure Storage that basically works like a data center cheat code. The punchline? The whole thing now sips power from just TWO sockets. Yes, two. We checked. The result? So much reclaimed floor space you could host a dance party. A power and cooling bill that no longer makes the CFO cry. And a simple, powerful stack that handles all their block, file, and object data without breaking a sweat. So, what’s YOUR rack story? Show us your setup in the comments! We want to see it all—the good, the bad, and the beautifully cabled. Bonus points for the most reclaimed empty space! Let the rack-shaming (and rack-praising) begin!dmitrywashere12 days agoModerator19Views0likes0CommentsNeed a Laugh? Drop Your Best Joke Here! 🥸

The creativity of our marketing department is something special but this latest project from Canada crew Sangeeta and Principal Technologist Dan might just be my favorite. The build quality is exceptional and there are more than a few little hidden surprises; like the NFC chip hiding under the Pure logo. Looks just like a miniature version of our XL shipping box. Includes a removable controller and bezel. Incredible detail on the printed bricks. Fit for every datacenter, large or small. Can you believe how time flies? Fall is now here, and yes—it’s time for another 💡 Technology Tip Thursday! 💡 This week’s tech tip is GIANT, well, about a tech giant at least. Did you know that it was this month in 1998 that Google was founded (incorporated to be exact)? Google Inc. was officially incorporated in California on September 4, 1998, by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, marking the official founding of the company that would become a dominant force in web search. They started as PhD students at Stanford University, developing the innovative PageRank algorithm to organize web information. This monumental launch started the shift on how everyone finds information forever. So now we ask: What was one of the very first things you remember "Googling" (or searching for online) that completely blew your mind? Share your story below—we want to hear about the moment you realized how powerful internet search could be! P.S. For a fun, nostalgic trip related to our topic, try searching 'Google in 1998' right now!
