What's the wait you used to put up with that's now gone forever?
The first IBM PC had 2 5 1/4 floppy drives that were required to boot the computer and load any programs you wanted to run. The full system boot from the a: drive usually took 2-3 minutes and THEN you had to load and run the game or word processing program you wanted to run from the b: drive so another 2-3 minutes. Pretty crazy given how apps are just at our fingertips now and systems boot everything directly from HDD.
