Yesterday was May the 4th, which is like an unofficial geek holiday for those of us who are Star Wars fans. Like many epics, there are tons of underlying themes like good vs evil, striving for balance, and how freedom is fragile. Yes, failure most of all. The greatest teacher failure is." - Yoda We all make mistakes. Those of us who make lots of them, also learn pretty quickly. Admitting our mistakes and sharing them with younger developers or engineers might help them accelerate their learning, with fewer challenges of their own. "We are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters." - Yoda As some of our careers move more towards management and leadership roles, this piece of wisdom from Yoda, may serve your teams well. Tip: Use Generative-AI for Interview Prep
For those that are job searching, gen-AI tools like ChatGPT can be incredibly useful for research and preparation. Some useful prompts: > Create an interview preparation brief for (role) at (company) > Summarize the products of (company) at a high level to help me prepare for an interview > List the primary competitors and the partners of (company) and summarize the relationships > List the common interview questions that I should prepare for (this role) at (this company) > My background is (details from your experience), help me with ideas to relate them to responsibilities for (details from target role) at (target company) Good luck out there!
