Cloud Native Summer Series: Exploring the Landscape
Cincinnati Cloud Native enthusiasts! We will be hosting a series of events this summer to grow the CNCF community locally. In our first event, we will be gathering for a roundtable discussion about the current landscape and what solutions you are building in this ecosystem right now. We will meet at the Callibrity offices in Montgomery at 8280 Montgomery Rd at 3pm. Food and drink will be provided.501Views0likes1CommentFrom CSI to Snapshots: Seamless VM Management on Red Hat OpenShift
September 22 | Register Now Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization is an increasingly popular option for organizations migrating workloads to a new hypervisor. Rather than being an afterthought, storage is actually a critical element of any OpenShift Virtualization deployment. Join this webinar for a set of short demos of Everpure FlashArray™ with Red Hat OpenShift. We'll go from the ground up: connecting the Container Storage Interface (CSI) to storage, spinning up a virtual machine (VM) from a template, and protecting the VM with instant, array-based snapshots. These demos will show how naturally FlashArray fits into an OpenShift environment. Get connected: See how to set up the CSI with the Portworx® operator and define both the StorageCluster and the StorageClass. Run and protect: We’ll demonstrate both VM provisioning in OpenShift Virtualization plus how to create instant, space-efficient snapshots. Good day all Just a quick question to the Pure team & community. We have a customer utilising VMware's https://tanzu.vmware.com/tanzu|Tanzu for their K8s workloads. They have asked the question about backup/recovery options for those workloads. We were wondering if anyone has done some leg work already regarding delivering the PFA's snap/restore capabilities & integration into Tanzu/K8s clusters? In terms of backups, they wish to use Commvault for their backup orchestration. So we could more than likely leverage intellisnap for full VM level backups (but it does not necessarily answer the Tanzu/cluster re-integration question (at least, not that I am aware of (very happy to be incorrect about that))). Any thoughts/direction would be greatly appreciated.299Views0likes2CommentsSQL Server on Kubernetes - Faster, Safer Database Operations
April 16 | Register Now! Running SQL Server in containers can speed up provisioning and customization. But standalone containers lack the high availability and data services that enterprises require, making Kubernetes essential for resilient environments. Portworx® by Everpure extends Kubernetes with enterprise-grade data services—such as volume cloning—to reliably run stateful workloads like SQL Server and simplify database lifecycle management. In this session, we’ll demonstrate how to modernize SQL Server while improving resilience, flexibility, and operational efficiency. Key Takeaways How to deploy and operate SQL Server on Kubernetes with built‑in resilience and scalability How to migrate SQL Server from Windows-based environments and explore KubeVirt as an additional deployment option How Portworx data services simplify SQL Server database management, testing, and recovery Register Now250Views0likes0CommentsFlashCrew London & Glasgow May/June 2025 !!!! This blog post argues that Context Engineering is the critical new discipline for building autonomous, goal-driven AI agents. Since Large Language Models (LLMs) are stateless and forget information outside their immediate context window, Context Engineering focuses on assembling and managing the necessary information—such as session history, long-term memory (embeddings, RAG indexes), and tool outputs—for the agent every single turn. The post asserts that storage, not the LLM or the prompt, is the primary performance bottleneck for AI at scale. The speed of the underlying storage architecture dictates the agent's responsiveness because it must quickly retrieve and persist context data repeatedly.199Views3likes0CommentsGlasgow FlashCrew Materials 5th June 2025
