Mount a VVOL datastore
Hello all, I'm trying to mount a VVOL datastore using Mount-PfaVvolDatastore - https://blog.purestorage.com/uncategorized/mounting-a-vvol-datastore-with-powercli/. This is working fine on windows but I need to do this from a linux container and having issues with the import of PureStorage.FlashArray.VMware. I have no problem importing and using other PowerShell SDK1/SDK2 modules on the container, but I think I need PureStorage.FlashArray.VMware to mount VVOL, or is there another recommended way of doing this? First error I get is about loading of PureStorage.FlashArray.VVol - see below. I can work around this by pointing directly to the psd1 but then it fails to load PureStorage.FlashArray.VMware.vVol.Replication.psm1 and even manually pointing to the psd1/psm1 doesn't seem to help.Solved44Views0likes17CommentsSo regarding vVols, is there still no solution for backing them up via FC?
This is the big problem hindering us in implementing it on a broader scale. Are there any whitepapers, deepdives or blogpost’s which describe the underlying problem? In my understanding, the „raw data“ (data-vVol) on the array is literally the same as one for a physical servers-so it should be „easy“ to „export“ via a snapshot arraywise. The only „special sauce“ is the configuration-vVol and the swap-vVol. I‘d like to understand this limitation, there must be some bigger underlying issue why this is not as easy as I’m thinkingSolved27Views0likes5CommentsHi all. I have recently started using Cody's script PureStorageVMwareStorageTool.ps1 for mass VM recovery in our DR site. The script is amazing. I do have one issue when powering up all the new registered copies of the servers from the snapshots. When each VM is powered on vCenter prompts if the VM was moved or copied. I understand the question and reason for it, but trying to come up with a way to automate answering that question rather than having to click on the button for each VM in vCenter. Thank you24Views0likes4CommentsHi, does anybody have the error message: "Error retrieving
Hi, does anybody have the error message: "Error retrieving datastore information org.springframework.web.client.HttpClientErrorException$Unauthorized: 401 Unauthorized: [Cannot authorize the operation.]" when trying to use the vmware plugin 5.0 with latest appliance? Everything seems to be working fine but we receive this message when we try to expand a LUN within vCenter.Solved23Views0likes7Comments
